A Little Preview

 

Life on the road can harden you, but you never stop appreciating the way the leaves turn. I know when fall settles in because it gets too cool to drive with my windows open at night, even in my lined jacket. It had been a long damn time since I’d been in school, but I still marked my years as beginning in September. Winter was a season ripe for bad decisions behind closed doors, and January was always too bleak to hold any kind of promise of resolution.
